SUNY Cortland sophomore Alyson Dalton (Sherrill/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending Oct. 4. Dalton placed 26th in a 337-runner field in the Brown Division of last Friday's Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University. She covered the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 27 seconds.

Dalton's performance helped nationally 35th-ranked Cortland finish 16th out of 39 schools. The Red Dragons defeated seven of the 13 Division I schools in the race.
