SUNY Cortland sophomore Cristina Speirs (Plainview/Plainview-Old Bethpage) has been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Gymnastics Specialist of the Week for the week ending Feb. 21.

Speirs helped Cortland finish first at the four-team Harriet Marranca Invitational at Ithaca College last Saturday. She finished fourth on balance beam with a 9.325 and tied for ninth place on floor exercise with a career-high 9.40. The Red Dragons, ranked sixth nationally by the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association, defeated fifth-ranked Ithaca and top-ranked Brockport along with Wilson College for the team title.
