Five Red Dragon Gymnasts Earn All-America Honors; Nadrowski Ties for Second on Vault

Sarah Nadrowski tied for second nationally on vault with a career-best 9.575
SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Five Cortland gymnasts earned All-America honors, led by a national runner-up finish on vault by freshman Sarah Nadrowski (Buffalo/Kenmore East), during the individual event finals at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Division III Championships, hosted by Springfield College.

Nadrowski tied for second with her career-best vault score of 9.575. Wisconsin-Whitewater's Justine Weyer won the event with a 9.70, while Springfield's Christina Pagella tied Nadrowski for second place. Nadrowski earns first-team All-America honors, which go to the top six finishers in each event.

Cortland's other four competitors in the finals earned second-team All-America awards by finishing between seventh and 12th place. Senior Chris Cate (Concord, NH) finished eighth on vault with a 9.10 and senior Jenn Najuch (North Tonawanda) was ninth on vault with a 9.075. Cate is an All-American for the first time, while Najuch earned second-team All-America honors on vault for the second straight year.

On balance beam, senior Alyssa Neely (Allentown, PA/Parkland) finished 11th with an 8.925 and senior Christine Haungs (Derby/Lake Shore) was 12th with an 8.725. Neely finishes her career as a three-time All-American on balance beam – she was a second-teamer in 2008 and won the national title in 2009. Haungs concludes her collegiate career as a three-time All-American. She was a second-team honoree on uneven bars last year in addition to her first-team honor in the all-around and second-team award on balance beam this year.
