Cortland junior attackman Jay DiStefano (Huntington/Harborfields) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 18.

In fourth-ranked Cortland's (9-2, 3-0 SUNYAC) 4-3 win versus ninth-ranked Geneseo, DiStefano scored two goals, including the game winner in transition with 43 seconds left in the fourth quarter. In Saturday's 20-7 win at Potsdam, DiStefano recorded a goal and three assists before the end of the third quarter.

For the season, DiStefano is third on the team in scoring with 27 points on 15 goals and a team-best 12 assists.
