Bridgette DeSantis (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) scored 53 seconds into the second overtime session as the Cortland women's soccer team defeated John Carroll, 1-0, in the consolation game of the RIT Rachel Miller Invitational. The Red Dragons earned their first win of the season and improved to 1-1-1. The Blue Streaks fell to 0-3 with the setback.
After a scoreless regulation and first 10-minute overtime, Cortland wasted little time in netting the game winner as senior
Carly Williams (Emerson, NJ) set up DeSantis' first goal of the season. Senior goalie
Pam Monnier (East Northport/Northport) earned her second consecutive shutout with two saves.
For John Carroll, senior goalie Molly Gradowski (Bethesda, MD/Georgetown Visitation) stopped eight shots.
