BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Cortland won four of the final five matches, two by pin, to secure a 33-12 dual-match victory at Division II LIU-Post. The Red Dragons improved to 10-6 on the season and have now reached double figures in dual wins 15 times in the last 16 seasons.

Cortland opened with forfeit wins by Josh Antoine (Brooklyn/Grand Street) at 125 pounds and Matt Bradice (Mastic/William Floyd) at 133 pounds. The Pioneers (5-9) won by pin at 141 pounds, but Matt Maquet (Long Beach) answered with a 5-3 overtime win at 149 pounds to put Cortland ahead 15-6.

The hosts closed to within 15-9 after a 3-2 win at 157 pounds. Adrian Berry (Uniondale) won 13-10 at 165 pounds to extend the Red Dragons' lead to 18-9, and a pin by Travis Edwards (Sparrow Bush/Port Jervis) in 2:56 at 174 pounds extended the margin to 24-9.

LIU-Post stayed alive with a 9-6 win at 184 pounds to cut Cortland's lead to 24-12 with two matches left. Mike Beckwith (Greene) clinched the Red Dragons' win with a 2-1 overtime win in a tiebreaker round at 197 pounds, and Zach Gifford (Deposit) closed the match with a pin in 5:42 at 285 pounds.

Cortland will travel to Oswego for a dual match on Saturday, Feb. 10, at noon.
