The Cortland women's soccer team will be hosting Brockport in the SUNYAC tournament first round on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at Holloway Field. Cortland (8-4-3, 6-1-2 SUNYAC) is the third seed in the six-team playoffs and Brockport (8-8-2, 4-4-1 SUNYAC) is the sixth seed. Cortland defeated the Golden Eagles on the road, 3-0, during the regular season.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Any student from a SUNYAC school is admitted free with a valid school ID. In addition, Cortland Athletics will cover the cost of attendance for any SUNY Cortland faculty or staff member.
The winner will advance to the semifinals and will play at second-seeded Plattsburgh on Wednesday, Nov. 3. The championship game will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the highest remaining seed.
Cortland is the defending SUNYAC champion, having won the 2019 title with a 5-1 win over Brockport in the semifinals and a 1-0 overtime victory at Geneseo in the finals. The 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19. Cortland has won nine SUNYAC titles (1984-86, 1988-91, 2012, 2019).
