Senior women's diver Taylor Williams (Slate Hill/Minisink Valley) and sophomore wrestler J.C. Cardenas (Brooklyn/Grand Street Campu) have been selected as the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 27.

Taylor Williams
Taylor qualified for the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships with her fourth-place score of 456.45 points on the 3-meter board at the NCAA Region 4 Diving Regional in Ithaca. She is one of seven divers from the regional advancing to the national championships March 16-19 in Indianapolis. Williams also qualified for nationals in 2020 but that championship was canceled.

J.C. Cardenas
J.C. won the 133-pound weight class at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Mideast Regional in Pennsylvania and is one of four Red Dragons who earned a spot at the NCAA Division III Championships March 11-12 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ranked second regionally, Cardenas dominated his weight class with three pins followed by a 16-3 major decision in the championship match.
