Graduate student women's lacrosse midfielder Hannah Lorenzen (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) and junior men's outdoor track and field hurdler/sprinter/jumper Brett Morse (Saratoga Springs) have been named the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 8.

Hannah Lorenzen

Hannah was named the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse tournament MVP after helping the Red Dragons capture their 23rd conference title. She scored eight goals and assisted on two others, and won nine draw controls, in a 16-14 win over Geneseo in the finals on Saturday and had three goals and two assists in a 21-2 semifinal win over Oneonta on Friday.

Brett Morse

Brett scored a meet-high 24.5 points for the Red Dragons at the SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He won the league title in the 110-meter hurdles (14.64), was third in both the 200-meter dash (21.83) and long jump (6.83 meters/22' 5"), and was part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team (42.18). He was named the Co-Performer of the Meet and helped Cortland finish second in the final team standings.
