Senior women's diver Ashley Zachgo (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa), junior men's swimmer Hunter Bernhardt (Groton) and senior men's basketball forward/guard Austin Grunder (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson) have been chosen as the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 19.

Ashley Zachgo

Ashley was named the SUNYAC Women's Diver of the Meet at the conference championship meet in Buffalo. She won titles on both the 3-meter board with 480.15 points, more than 40 points better than the runner-up, and on the 1-meter board with 462.70 points, a winning margin of almost 50 points.

Hunter Bernhardt

Hunter broke three school records during the SUNYAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. He finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:35.41 and second in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:05.80, also setting a school mark during the latter with his opening 1,000-yard split time of 9:42.56. He was also part of third-place 800-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay teams and finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle.

Austin Grunder

Austin averaged 28.5 points, 14.5 rebounds and three assists per game in two road victories. He scored 27 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in a win at Buffalo State, in the process becoming Cortland's career rebounding leader. He totaled 30 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in a win at Geneseo and now has 936 career rebounds.
