Senior women's lacrosse attack Toni Cashman (East Moriches/Westhampton Beach) and graduate student baseball outfielder Mat Bruno (Rye) have been selected as the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 14.

Toni Cashman

Toni helped lead Cortland to a pair of conference wins, scoring 12 points on 11 goals and one assist with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. In a 23-5 victory at Oneonta on Wednesday, she matched her career high with eight points on a career-best seven goals and one assist, with six of the goals coming in the first half. Cashman then netted four goals and added three ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 16-4 home win versus Brockport on Saturday.

Mat Bruno

Mat batted .588 (10-for-17) with a homer, triple, three doubles, 13 RBI and nine runs scored in a 4-0 week for the Red Dragons. He recorded at least two hits in each game, and he became Cortland's career leader with 175 RBI. Bruno started the week by going 2-for-5 with two doubles and five RBI in an 11-7 win at Rochester Wednesday. He was 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and three runs in a 9-6 win versus visiting Castleton Thursday, and on Sunday he went a combined 5-for-8 with a homer, double, six RBI and five runs in a doubleheader sweep at Rosemont.
