Sugrue-Neuendorf and Kadota-Browner Earn SUNYAC Men's Swimming and Diving Honors

Cortland senior Hunter Sugrue-Neuendorf (Valley Cottage/Nyack) and sophomore Kazuki Kadota-Browner (Jericho) have earned weekly Men's Swimming and Diving awards from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) for the week ending Jan. 12. Sugrue-Neuendorf is the SUNYAC Men's Swimmer of the Week and Kadota-Browner is the league's Men's Diver of the Week.

Sugrue-Neuendorf won his award for the second time this season. He won two individual events and was part of a winning relay during Cortland's home 166-85 dual-meet win over New Paltz Saturday. He captured the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.29) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.49) and swam the breaststroke leg for the winning 400-yard medley relay that finished in 3:38.79.

Kadota-Browner was recognized for the third time this year. He broke the school record for six dives in 3-meter diving with a score of 337.35 points during the meet versus New Paltz. The previous record was 335.20 points by Jeff Holden in 1984.

Cortland will compete at the RPI Kumpf Invitational on Saturday and the Hobart/William Smith Diving Invitational on Sunday.
