Freshman softball pitcher Gianna Endieveri (Glens Falls) and senior baseball outfielder Luke Schartner (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) have been named the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 20.

Gianna Endieveri

Gianna went 3-0 with a save, a 0.50 ERA and 15 strikeouts in four innings over four appearances. She tossed a no-hitter in a 9-0 victory over Oswego, striking out eight batters and walking one in five innings. She earned a save in Game 1 and a win in Game 2 of a doubleheader at Fredonia, and she wrapped the week with a home win over Morrisville.

Luke Schartner

Luke batted .500 (8-for-16) with two homers, three doubles, three walks, 12 RBI and seven runs scored in four Cortland victories. He tied a school single-game record with nine RBI in a 16-4 win at Canton and finished that game 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and two three-run doubles, and in the second game of the doubleheader he went 3-for-6 with a solo homer, double and two runs scored.
