Cortland freshman
Gianna Endieveri (Glens Falls) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 20.

Endieveri went 3-0 with a save and a 0.50 ERA in four appearances during Cortland's 6-0 week. She allowed only one run and eight hits in 14 innings with 15 strikeouts and two walks.

The highlight of the week came on Monday when she tossed a five-inning no-hitter in a 9-0 victory over visiting Oswego, striking out eight batters and walking one. In a doubleheader at Fredonia on Thursday, she entered Game 1 with a runner on and no outs in the top of the seventh and retired all three batters she faced, two by strikeout, to preserve a 1-0 win. In the second game she tossed the first four innings and gave up three hits, one walk and no runs and fanned three batters in an 11-2 win. Endieveri finished the week with a win over Morrisville, giving up one run in four innings.

Endieveri has pitched in 14 games, seven as a starter, and is 6-3 with one save and a 2.92 ERA. She has struck out 48 batters in 48 innings.

Cortland (12-12, 8-0 SUNYAC) will play a league doubleheader Tuesday at Buffalo State.
