Cortland field hockey midfielder
Hanna Corrigan (Barneveld/Holland Patent) has been selected to compete at the prestigious 2025 Senior Nexus Championship (NXC), presented by Osaka Hockey, at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center from July 18-20.
Â
Corrigan is one of 145 elite collegiate and post-collegiate athletes chosen to compete in the event. A step along the Olympic Development Pathway program, the Senior NXC serves as a selection opportunity for a variety of U.S. teams, including the 2025-26 U.S. Women's National Team and the U.S. Women's National Development Squad. A team training session will be held July 18 and the games begin on July 19.
Â
"We couldn't be prouder of Hanna for earning a spot at the Senior Nexus Championship," said Cortland head coach
Tiffany Hubbard. "This is a tremendous honor and a reflection of her relentless work ethic, leadership, and passion for the game. It's another major achievement for Hanna after such an impressive collegiate career, and we're excited to see her represent Cortland Field Hockey at such a high level."
Â
Corrigan graduated from Cortland this past spring, and during her four-year playing career at Cortland from 2021-24 she appeared in 75 games and recorded 46 goals and 27 assists for 119 points. She ranks eighth at Cortland in career assists and tied for 10th in goals and points.
Â
Corrigan earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) first team All-America honors as a senior and second team All-America recognition as a junior. She earned NFHCA Region 3 Player of the Year honors last fall and was the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Offensive Player of the Year in both her junior and senior seasons. She's a four-time first team all-region and All-SUNYAC player.
