Cortland junior Isaiah Brunache (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) has been named the 2025 Niagara Region Division III Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and Red Dragon head coach Steve Patrick has been honored as the 2025 Niagara Region Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
 
Brunache finished as the national runner-up in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May with a school-record distance of 18.21 meters (59' 9"). He was 17th after two rounds before unleashing his record-breaking toss on his last attempt of the prelims to move into second place - a spot he held through the three rounds of the finals. Brunache also won the shot put title at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships, and at the SUNYAC Championships he was named the Most Outstanding Performer of the Meet after winning the shot put, finishing as runner-up in the discus and placing fourth in the hammer throw.
 
Patrick led Cortland to the SUNYAC title, a runner-up finish in the AARTFC standings and a tie for 13th place at the NCAA Championships. In addition to Brunache's runner-up showing in the shot put, the Red Dragons also boasted a third-place finish in the triple jump, seventh and ninth-place finishes in the 400-meter dash and a 10th-place effort in the 4x100-meter relay, all for All-America honors. Cortland also had national qualifiers in the hammer throw and 4x400-meter relay. Patrick won outdoor regional Coach of the Year honors for the fourth time; he previously was recognized when Cortland competed in the Atlantic Region in 2008, 2012 and 2013. He's also been regional indoor Coach of the Year three times, including this past winter.
