Nolan Raymond (Queens Village/Vermont Academy (VT)) scored 12 of his game-high 16 points in the second half as Cortland knocked off visiting Fredonia, 70-51, in a SUNYAC men's basketball contest.

Raymond finished 7-of-11 from the floor and added three assists for the Red Dragons (7-3, 3-0 SUNYAC).
Isaiah Austin (Albany) scored all 12 of his points in the first half and
Kendall Arcuri (Staten Island/St. Joseph by-the-Sea) tallied 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-6 from the 3-point arc.

Joel Davis (Watertown) finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and six assists and
Aaron Coston (Kerhonkson/Rondout Valley) wrapped up with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Xavier Leveille (Blauvelt/Tappan Zee) scored seven points.

Martin Garza scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Kofo Laditan scored eight points and snared 12 rebounds for Fredonia (1-9, 1-2 SUNYAC). Dexter Brooks chipped in with eight rebounds.

Cortland led 36-28 at halftime, and the teams combined for only six points, four by Fredonia, over the first six minutes of the second half to leave Cortland up by just six, 38-32. The Red Dragons' margin was eight at 46-38 with 10:51 remaining before they went on a 10-0 run in a three-minute span to take a 56-38 lead. Arcuri and Raymond started the streak with treys, followed by layups from Davis and Coston. Cortland's lead remained at 13 or more the rest of the contest.

Cortland shot 45 percent from the field overall, including 54 percent in the second half. Fredonia shot 34 percent in the contest. Fredonia grabbed 22 offensive rebounds, but those resulted in only four second-chance points for the Blue Devils. Cortland finished with 11 offensive rebounds that led to 13 second-chance points.

Cortland hosts New Paltz Friday at 6 p.m. in a rematch of last year's SUNYAC tournament championship game, which Cortland won on the road.
