Maurice Kearney Earns Two Regional Coaching Awards; Coston and Arcuri Individual Honorees

Cortland men's basketball head coach Maurice Kearney has been named both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 3 Coach of the Year and the D3hoops.com Region 3 Coach of the Year for the 2025-26 season.
 
In addition, Red Dragon senior forwards Aaron Coston (Kerhonkson/Rondout Valley) and Kendall Arcuri (Staten Island/St. Joseph by-the-Sea) have earned postseason honors from both organizations. Coston was named to the NABC All-District 3 first team and the D3hoops.com All-Region 3 third team, while Arcuri was chosen to the NABC all-district second team and D3hoops.com all-region third team.
 
Kearney led Cortland to a 24-5 record, tying the school record for single-season victories. The Red Dragons won their first SUNYAC regular-season title since the 2012-13 season with a 17-1 conference mark, and Cortland repeated as the SUNYAC tournament champion for the program's first-ever back-to-back league crowns. Cortland advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament to tie for 17th place nationally.
 
Coston is a repeat NABC all-district selection; he was on the second team last season, This winter, Coston started all 29 games and averaged team highs of 14.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He shot 59 percent from the field and 42 percent (39-of-94) from 3-point range. Coston scored in double figures 21 times, including eight games of 20 or more points.
 
Coston was named SUNYAC Tournament MVP after posting a combined 47 points and 16 rebounds in two Red Dragon victories, and he registered 32 points and 14 rebounds in a regular-season win at Oswego that clinched Cortland's SUNYAC regular-season title.
 
Arcuri earned his third straight D3hoops.com all-region award; he was a first-team selection last year and was named to the third team as a sophomore. He also was on the NABC all-district second team last season. This year, he started in all 25 games in which he appeared and averaged 13.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He shot 48 percent from the field, 46 percent (51-of-111) from 3-point range, and 80 percent (55-of-69) from the foul line.
 
Arcuri scored in double figures 17 times, including five games with 20 or more points. He finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds in Cortland's NCAA first-round win versus Franklin & Marshall and had 23 points and 10 boards in a regular-season home victory versus Oswego.
 
Coston and Arcuri both reached 1,000 career points at Cortland. Coston ranks 10th in school history with 1,312 points and Arcuri is 13th with 1,249 points.
