ITHACA, NY - The Cortland men's lacrosse team built a 11-2 halftime lead, and cruised to a dominant 16-5 road win at nationally 18th-ranked Ithaca in non-conference action on Wednesday evening. Cortland has won five straight games and moves to 9-5 on the year, while Ithaca sees its four-game winning streak come to an end and drops to 9-5.

Nick Stoecker (East Setauket/Ward Melville) led the Red Dragons with six points on four goals and two assists, while surpassing 150 career points in the win.
Stefan Swedlund (Randolph, NJ) provided four goals for the third straight game.
Sean Kavanagh (North Canton, OH/Hoover) added two goals and two assists and
James Violi (East Islip) had two goals and one helper.

Charlie Falowski (Redding, CT/Joel Barlow) made 12 saves in goal for the victory for Cortland.
Nicky Miltenberger (Ridge/Longwood) was stellar at the faceoff dot, winning 10-15 faceoffs and also adding an assist.
Patrick O'Doherty (Lynbrook) had two caused turnovers and picked up three ground balls.

Ethan Adrid scored twice to lead Ithaca, while three other players tallied a goal. Andrew Minard made 10 saves in goal for the Bombers.

Ithaca won the opening faceoff and took a 1-0 lead just 23 seconds into the game on a goal by Brendan Occhino. Cortland responded back shortly after with three goals over the span of 1:10 of game action – one each by Violi, Swedlund, and
Frank Neeson (Orchard Park) – to jump ahead by a 3-1 score with 12:24 remaining in the frame.

After Adrid's first goal of the game pulled the Bombers back to within a goal with 12:03 left in the period, Cortland scored 10 straight goals over the next 30:01 of game action through halftime and into the third quarter to take a commanding 13-2 advantage.

Mason Carroll (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and Stoecker each scored a goal for the Red Dragons to close out the first quarter with a 5-2 Cortland lead.

The Red Dragons outscored the Bombers by a 6-0 margin in the second quarter to extend the lead to 11-2 at halftime. During the second quarter, Kavanagh,
Caden Morra (Farmingdale/Plainedge), and Stoecker each scored a goal, while Swedlund tallied three goals in the period. The final goal for Swedlund came with under a second remaining on the game clock, taking a feed from Kavanagh and sneaking a shot past Minard to beat the clock. During the second quarter, Falowski made three stellar saves to keep Ithaca off the board in the quarter.

Cortland continued to dominate play during the opening minutes of the third quarter, adding to its lead with a goal each by Neeson and Kavanagh with 12:59 left in the period.

Ithaca finally ended the Cortland scoring run on a goal by Lucas Proctor shortly after, but Stoecker made it 14-3 in favor of the Red Dragons with his third goal of the game with 6:32 left. Adrid's second goal of the game for Ithaca with under a minute left in the period made it 14-4 heading into the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Cortland added two more goals and Ithaca scored just once, with Violi scoring for the second time in the game with 10:57 remaining, and after an Ithaca goal by Jack Chaney with 3:25 left, Stoecker finished off the scoring with 1:54 remaining with a stylish, behind-the-back goal for his fourth tally of the contest.
