Three members of the SUNY Cortland softball team have been selected to the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Region Three all-region team. Senior catcher
Shelby LaMont (Amsterdam) was named to the all-region first team, while freshman pitcher
Olivia DiSalvo (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) and sophomore designated player/catcher
Laila Smith (Guilderland) were chosen to the second team.

LaMont started 39 games this season between catcher and designated player and led the Red Dragons with a .405 batting average, three homers, 16 doubles, 43 RBI and a .603 slugging percentage. She finished with 17 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games, including six RBI in a win over Fredonia and five in a win at Plattsburgh.

DiSalvo was 10-4 with a 1.70 ERA and one save in the circle in 21 appearances, 15 as a starter. She allowed 83 hits and struck out 52 batters in 78 and a third innings pitched. She recorded wins versus New Paltz in the SUNYAC tournament and Bowdoin in the NCAA regionals, as well as a win versus NCAA Super Regional qualifier UMass Dartmouth in a game in Florida in March.

Smith played in 42 games, 41 as a starter, and batted .359 with three homers, 10 doubles, 28 RBI and a team-high 35 runs scored. She also stole 10 bases in 11 attempts. Smith hit safely in 15 of her final 16 games, including going a combined 8-for-14 with a walk in four NCAA playoff games to earn a spot on the NCAA regional all-tournament team.

Cortland finished the season with a 27-17 record to reach the 20-win plateau for the 29th straight full season. Cortland finished second in the SUNYAC regular season with a 13-5 league record and won the conference postseason tournament to earn its second straight NCAA berth. The Red Dragons finished second with a 2-2 record at a four-team regional hosted by Moravian University to tie for 17th place nationally.
