Isaiah Brunache Named 2025-26 C-Club Men's Senior Athlete of the Year

Men's track and field thrower Isaiah Brunache (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) has been named the 2025-26 SUNY Cortland C-Club Men's Sports Senior Athlete of the Year.

The finalists for Cortland's Rookie and Senior Athletes of the Year were announced in early May, but the winners were not chosen until the entire spring season was completed. The Men's Rookie of the Year, baseball's Anthony Carlo, was announced Tuesday, the Women's Rookie of the Year, women's lacrosse's Sydney Elizalde, was announced Wednesday, and the Women's Senior Athlete of the Year, women's soccer's and women's ice hockey's Katie Diem, was announced on Thursday.

* Seven-time All-American (outdoor shot put national runner-up in 2023 and 2025, indoor weight throw 5th place in 2026, indoor shot put 7th place in 2026, indoor weight throw 7th place in 2025, outdoor discus 8th place in 2026, indoor shot put 8th place in 2025)
* Also qualified nationally for outdoor shot put in 2026 (18th place), outdoor discus in 2024 (18th place), outdoor shot put in 2024 (20th place), indoor shot put in 2023 (20th place), and indoor shot put and weight throw in 2024 (did not compete due to injury)
