Biography

2022-23: Hunter earned second team All-SUNYAC honors...Placed second in the 500 free (personal-best and school-record 4:35.41) and the 1,650 free (personal-best and school-record 16:05.80) and fourth in the 200 free (personal-best 1:41.76) at the SUNYAC Championships...Set the school record in the 1,000 free (personal-best 9:42.56) during the 1,650 free at the conference meet...Member of the second-place 800 free and third-place 400 free relays at the SUNYAC Championships.

2021-22: Did not compete.

2020-21: Member of the program but the season was canceled.

2019-20: Named the SUNYAC Men's Co-Swimmer of the Year and the SUNYAC Men's Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet at the conference championships...Earned first team all-conference honors...Captured the titles in the 500 free (personal-best 4:39.50) and the 1,650 free (personal-best 16:23.67) and placed sixth in the 200 free (1:45.09, personal-best 1:44.89 preliminaries) at the SUNYAC Championships...Member of the fourth-place 800 free relay at the conference meet.

2018-19: Placed fifth in the 1,650 free (personal-best 16:46.25) and the 500 free (4:48.61, personal-best 4:48.45 preliminaries) and finished 13th in the 200 free (personal-best 1:47.09) at the SUNYAC Championships...Member of the fourth-place 800 free relay team at the conference meet.

High School: A 2018 graduate of Groton.

Other: Nine-year member of the Cortland YMCA Stingers...2017 New York State YMCA state champion in the 400 IM...Mother Tammie Miller Bernhardt is a Cortland graduate and was a three-time national champion in the outdoor 3,000 meters and a seven-time track and field All-American for the Red Dragons...Father Charles wrestled at Tompkins Cortland Community College...Sister Leah currently attends Cortland and also is a member of Cortland's swimming and diving program.
