Prior to Cortland: Attended the Coast Guard Academy in 2024-25...Still a member of the Coast Guard Reserves.

High School: Graduated from South Jefferson in 2024...Member of the National Honor Society...Received the Grindstone Island Scholarship, the Irishfest Scholarship, North Central Zone of the NYSRTA Scholarship, the Edward Blackford IV Memorial Scholarship, the Lewis and Ann Kibling Memorial Scholarship, Northern and Countryside Credit Union Employees Memorial Scholarship, and the Charles and Fern Brown Scholarship...Four-year member of the swim team...Team went undefeated in 2022 and 2024...Set school records in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay...Named team MVP in 2023...Four-year member of the track and field team...Lists the feeling of beating their rival school in senior year as his greatest sports thrill in high school.  

Other: Hobbies include hunting and doing triathlons...Placed first in his age group at the Henderson Triathlon and the Silver Serpent Olympic Triathlon...Parents are Travis and Christine Purvis...Has one sibling, Emma...Mother Christine graduated from Cortland and was a member of the softball team for the Red Dragons...Father Travis played lacrosse at Potsdam...Uncle David Purvis played lacrosse and football at St. Lawrence...Sister Emma was a member of the swimming and diving team at Brockport.
