Biography
2020-21: Sophie finished 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (14:12.99) at the SUNYAC Outdoor Championships...Recorded personal-best times in the 1,500 meters (5:20.71) at the Cortland Challenge, the 5,000 meters (20:20.47) at the University at Buffalo Invitational and the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:49.70) at the Cortland Conference Qualifier.
High School: A 2020 graduate of Valley Central...Graduated top five in her class...Secretary of the Student Government Association...Two-year member of the cross country and indoor track and field teams...Four-year member of the outdoor track and field team...Qualified for the Penn Relays as a member of the 4 x 400 relay team.
Other: Placed in the top-five percent in her freshman class and member of the Dean's List and President's List at Cortland...Father Rich Steger is a Cortland graduate and was a member of the track and field team as a thrower.
