Each team scored three goals in the second quarter, with Red Dragon goals coming from Nagengast, James Violi (East Islip), and Kavanagh, to give Cortland the 9-4 edge into halftime.

Rosenberger scored the opening goal of the second half for the Golden Flyers just over four minutes into the third quarter to pull Nazareth to within four goals.
